Hey guys... I just got the inspiration for this topic from a conversation I had with a friend last night.
It’s still early in the morning, and I just felt I needed to put a post out there this week, and this conversation popped up in my head. I pondered whether or not I should dish this out here but hey, why not?😇...
One way or the other, we have all been in positions where we contemplated whether God listens to us during downtimes and we worry and doubt if our situations would ever get better. I’m just going to dive into situations where I have felt that way and probably chip in my one kobo knowledge 😊.
A friend asked last night, Nike, has God ever answered your prayers? I wondered where this question was coming from at first, and then I replied and said yeah a lot of times. She said, he hardly answers mine, or is it because I’m a sinner?
However, to everyone who has questions like these burning your hearts, probably because you desired something for a long while, prayed with faith, and still did not feel answered, this is my reply.
Is it because you are a sinner?
Nah
First of all, he is a merciful God, and you have to believe that whenever you pray. When you truly believe God is merciful and that he has forgiven you for all of your sins. So whenever you pray, you would not have doubts that you are not getting answers because you are a sinner.
Secondly, certain things happen in life that make one think God doesn’t care. However, in the midst of it all, you have to believe what his word says. His thoughts for you are of Good and not of evil to give you an expected end. That things aren’t the way you planned them to be doesn’t mean he doesn’t listen to your prayer... Keep trusting him to make the right decisions for you.
There are times I have prayed for things I thought were best for me, and things didn’t go as planned. Oh well, I still believe I’m where he wants me to be. I receive hope from his words and pray for his peace that passes all understanding amid my storms. Don’t I ever feel like giving up or even getting frustrated because I haven’t received answers? Yes! But how can I give up praying to him when he is the only one I have got. I believe that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me, so how can I give up? He is the only one I got, he is the only way I know, and he is the only one I have been brought up to believe in. Well, if you have other ways that you think are 100% sure other than God’s way, then I feel sorry for you because my God is perfection in itself. I feel sorry for you because, my God no Dey fail, and you must be missing out on that. I feel for you because I wish you experience the peace he gives to those who diligently seek and love him.
I have prayed to God severally for every challenge I have faced over the years, I have received answers for some of them, and I have doubted at some point if he heard a few of them, I have believed that he listened to some other ones and chose not to take actions. What surprises me the most is how when I think he is silent, he is actually working for my sake. When I thought that was best for me, he is actually organizing bigger plans for me; that time of this world considers it slow...
Some people say he is slow, and I laugh because you don’t even have the slightest idea of when you’re going to leave this world. It could be at the minute of you taking those wrong steps. You can’t even control time, and you’re calling the one person who does; slow... You have to be kidding me😂😂😂
Are you weak, heavy-laden, or cumbersome with loads of stress and anxiety? Are you tired and frustrated because of the state of everything around you? Seek God with all of your heart, and I can boldly promise you that he would put you on his shoulders, take you through those issues because his way is perfect.
Discard and ignore every negative thinking and just put it all on, God.
He knows best, and he listens.
I leave you with this quote from a famous Author;
“God listens and He responds. Sometimes His reply could be "I'm with you. Do not be afraid." Sadly, many times we withdrew long before receiving the blessing He has for us, what He wants to show us; or we get disappointed because we don't recognize His answer for not being what we expected”. - Author: Yilda B.
